UNCTAD · Easy Accounts Uganda · lean specification

Easy Accounts today is a monthly questionnaire that becomes financial statements. Frank’s design adds optional daily entries on top of it, with one switch per month, and nothing changes for an owner who never records a day.

Three short documents, read in order. The first describes the site Uganda’s users have today. The second adds daily accounting as Frank designed it. The third lists, one line each, what eA+ adds beyond that. Eight mockups show it on screen. Six questions remain open for Frank.

~50figures an owner types once a month today
1 switchper month: the reports read monthly (the default) or daily
3 numbersper line: typed, total of the days, difference
6questions open for Frank

The three documents

Read 02 as a design, not as what is built. The eA+ build posts the difference as one “Unsupported amount” entry per line and month, and the larger figure wins the report. The two rules differ in three cases (02 §4). Choosing between them is S1 #1, open with Nelson and Frank.

What an owner sees on a line (02, invented figures)

January, with some days recorded. The typed figure stays what the reports read while the month is on monthly.

Mockups: Frank’s design on the legacy look

Eight screens, drawn over the look of today’s site (captures of 24-09-2026), with invented figures for “Ada Example Bakery”. None of this is built. Titles, wording and placements are proposals (02). Click a mockup to open it full size.

Open for Frank

  1. VAT on daily entries. How a daily sale or purchase carries VAT, and how the VAT return reads it. URA’s form has not been seen.
  2. The wording of the note under report lines, and of the warning when a typed figure is below the days.
  3. How a money movement shows on the form. Cash to bank, or a debtor paying, has no flow line to sit under.
  4. The criteria for a “possible repeated entry”: which fields must match.
  5. A product list on the daily form. Still open.
  6. The legacy receivables lines. When “Receivables at month end” becomes a typed balance line, do the four legacy receivables lines stay (for example as the month’s movements), or does the typed line replace them? Raised by mockup L-6.
